Suzhou, China — Synventive has completed an expansion and upgrade of its plant in Suzhou, China, to meet growing demand for hot runners in the Asia Pacific market.
The expansion in production capacity supports the development of Barnes Group Inc.'s Molding Solutions business, which includes Otto Männer, Foboha, Thermoplay, Gammaflux and Priamus. It will allow Asian manufacturing of Thermoplay hot runners and Gammaflux hot runner controllers.
Barnes, which is publicly traded, is based in Bristol, Conn.
The new facility is next to Synventive's Suzhou plant, which opened in 2005. The hot runner maker has reorganized its two plants in Suzhou and optimized the material, information and work flow. That has resulted in faster production and delivery, company officials said.
Synventive also installed several injection molding machines and testing equipment. The Barnes unit also has beefed up its research and development activities.
The company renovated support features such as the cafeteria, locker room, elevators and lighting.
Barnes bought Synventive in 2012.
