Trexel Inc., the developer of the MuCell process, and GK Concept GmbH are launching a joint venture called 2Limit, which intensifies both company's cooperation in part design and tooling engineering for microcellular lightweight components.
2Limit offers full-service engineering, to support customers from an initial idea through to a finished MuCell product. 2Limit kicked off at Fakuma 2017.
Trexel is based in Wilmington, Mass. GK Concept, of Dresden, Germany, does product development, finite element analysis, injection molding simulation and tool design. Those services — with a MuCell twist — are offered by 2Limit.
“Formally linking our joint activities was a logaical step for us,” said Brian Bechard, Trexel's president and CEO. “It has given us the opportunity to take engineering for physical foaming to an entirely new level.”
Trexel and GK Concept have been working closely together since the 2016 K show.
“Our aim is to ensure that customers can exploit the potential of MuCell technology to the limit,” said Roman Hofer, general manager of 2Limit.
