Orlando, Fla. — The Closed Mold Alliance and the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovations (IACMI) plan to offer another set of joint technical workshops during 2018.
The groups announced the 2018 schedule at CAMX in Orlando.
“Workforce development is very important to us,” said Composites One President and Chief Operating Officer Leon Garoufalis. Composites One is part of the alliance.
“We're honored to once again partner with IACMI and industry-leading suppliers on four new workshops enabling us to share advanced composites knowledge, cutting edge technologies and innovative solutions that can benefit both the current workforce as well as the next generation of professionals.”
Topics and a schedule for 2018 are:
• Pultrusion, in Knoxville, Tenn., at an April date and location to be announced at a later date.
• Advanced composites and wind, NREL/IACMI wind technology facility, Boulder, Colo., June 5-6.
• Road2Composites auto focus, Detroit, Aug. 21-22.
• Composites hands-on training, Dayton, Ohio, Nov. 14-15.
The groups held 2017 training sessions at Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee, Michigan State University and Purdue University.
The alliance members include major sponsor Composites One of Arlington Heights, Ill.; Magnus Venus Products of Knoxville, Tenn.; and the technology arm of RTM North Ltd. of Clinton, Ontario.
