Kildeer, Ill. — Consulting group Plante Moran and the Reshoring Initiative are seeking input from manufacturers in a survey which the groups will present to lawmakers.
The U.S. Manufacturing Reshoring Study will collect information aimed at providing insights on how much manufacturers offshore production, what drives them to move production off shore and what policy changes could motivate them to reshore business to the U.S.
Results will be shared with President Donald Trump's administration, the U.S. Congress and survey respondents.
The Reshoring Initiative, based in Kildeer, says more manufacturing jobs are returning to the U.S. but estimates that about 4 million jobs have been lost as work was moved to lower cost regions.
