Berry Global Group Inc.'s year-long leadership transition will finalize on Feb. 1 when CEO Tom Salmon also becomes chairman of the company's board.
Salmon succeeded Jon Rich as CEO last year and now succeeds Rich as he retires from his role as executive chairman of the board for the Evansville, Ind.-based firm.
"The time is now right to complete the passing of the baton to the next generation and I have the utmost confidence in the company's future with Tom as chairman and CEO," Rich said in a statement.
Salmon's first year as CEO has been an eventful one as the company changed its name from Berry Plastics Group Inc., became a member of the Fortune 500 and recently announced plans to purchase film maker Clopay Plastics Products Company Inc. in a $475 million deal.
