TechnoBiz is offering a Plastics Films Processing Training Week in Atlanta March 5-8.
It includes two two-day training courses offered by industry experts Kirk Cantor, a professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology, and film extrusion author Paul Waller. Cantor will present “Polymer Science and Melt Rheology,” an introduction to the polymer industry. Training then will cover aspects of rheology and how it relates to the ability to extrude and process various types of films or sheeting.
Waller will present “Blown and Cast Films Processing and Troubleshooting. He will review the entire film processing system from basic polymer selection and blending to extrusion system components and setup.
The training is intended for people who are new to the industry, experienced engineers and anyone responsible for the manufacturing operation, including management or sales, technical and hands-on personnel.
The registration fee is $950 for each course, or $1,750 for both courses. There is a 10 percent early-bird discount for registration before Jan. 31. A group discount of 10 percent applies for three or more people from the same company for the same program.
