Transducers USA has introduced new custom ultrasonic sensors for measuring distance or level of materials. The devices include both a proximity sensor and an ultrasonic speaker — giving both detection and an audible alert notifying that a specific condition has happened.
The noncontact sensing technology measures distance to an object by emitting sound waves and receiving the echo signal using a single ultrasonic element, unlike optical sensors that require both a transmitter and a receiver.
The ultrasonic sensors can detect a wide range of materials, including hard, soft, any color, flat or curved. They also can reflect off transparent objects, such as glass or a liquid surface.
Unlike traditional proximity sensors, the Transducers USA ultrasonic sensors operate over longer distances. They can be programmed to establish a user-defined distance range.
