Kraiburg TPE has started a new extrusion line for the production of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) at its headquarters in Waldkraiburg, Germany.
In a Jan. 24 statement, the company said the addition of the new line brings its total global capacity to 56,000 metric tons.
No further detail on the new line was given.
Commenting on the expansion, Kraiburg TPE CEO Franz Hinterecker said the Waldkraiburg site was the “focus of all of our activities.”
The company has been investing particularly in expanding its development center and increasing capacities in recent years at the location, Hinterecker added.
Along with the Waldkraiburg, Kraiburg TPE has also recently invested in production in North America and Asia.
In the U.S., the company relocated to a new production plant in Buford, near Atlanta, Georgia, in 2016.
In Asia, an additional new line has recently been put into operation at its plant in Kuala Lumpur, the company said.
