X-Rite Inc. and its color subsidiary Pantone LLC announced the expansion of the MetaVue family of non-contact imaging spectrophotometers, with a new version tailored for the plastics, coatings, cosmetics and food industries called MetaVue VS3200.
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based X-Rite will show the MetaVue VS3200 at NPE2018, at Booth S19037.
According to X-Rite, MetaVue VS3200 is the first non-contact instrument for industrial use that combines color imaging with spectrophotometry to characterize the most-complex materials. It works with the measurement of liquids, powders, gels or other small and odd-shaped samples.
“Many quality control programs rely solely on visual color evaluation due to the shape and size of the sample,” said product manager Dave Visnovsky. “MetaVue's flexibility to measure a range of wet and dry samples — large and small — allows manufacturers to add instrument-based quality control to their process in order to ensure color accuracy, eliminating waste and rework.”
It has an onboard camera for precise digital targeting of the sample.
The unit integrates with X-Rite color iMatch and Color IQC software.
