Materials firm RTP Co. will open a compounding plant in Wroclaw, Poland, this summer.
The 86,000-square-foot site will be the third in Europe for Winona, Minn.-based RTP, joining plants in France and Germany. Company officials said in a news release that the Wroclaw site will support regional demand and provide a consistent supply of RTP's custom compounds to customers in Europe. The new plant is expected to employ at least 25.
The new plant has room for as many as six extrusion lines. Features include a wide dock area, high clearance ceiling, external office space and a lab with controlled temperature and humidity.
The plant's production area will feature natural light and will be equipped with additional ventilation and drainage. The site also can be expanded to accommodate future growth, officials said.
RTP is one of North America's 30 largest compounders and concentrate makers, according to Plastics News data. The firm operates 18 plants worldwide, making compounds based on 60 different engineering resins.
