Mauser USA LLC is expanding in the Southeast with in purchase in Atlanta.
The company acquired the assets of MaschioPack North America LLC, which had been a subsidiary of Colonial Group Inc. of Savannah, Ga.
“This acquisition provides us the opportunity to more effectively service our North American customers while at the same time welcoming new customers,” said Glenn Frommer, CEO of Mauser USA, in a statement.
The acquisition allows Mauser to expand its intermediate bulk container business footprint and provides “additional manufacturing support” for its National Container Group reconditioning affiliate, the company said.
“IBCs and reconditioned packaging are the two fastest growing segments within the industrial packaging industry,” said Jeff DeLiberty, director of new markets and business development at Mauser USA, in a statement. “These assets will not only serve as a critical part of Mauser's growth strategy in North America, but will also provide the necessary support for NCG as the reconditioning industry continues to expand.”
Mauser USA is part of the larger Mauser Group, which has operations around the world and is a unit of Stone Canyon Industries LLC. Stone Canyon is an industrial holding company based in Los Angeles. The company also owns Bway Corp., a maker of rigid plastic containers, buckets, pails and drums.
MaschioPack North America opened the Atlanta plant in 2014. That operation makes 275- and 330-gallon high density polyethylene IBCs and includes two blow molders, according to the company's website.
