CKS Packaging Inc. is partnering with Barrier Plastics Inc. and BP Polymers LLC to become a primary North American maker of high density polyethylene rigid packaging with BPP's Quoral barrier resin technology, the company said.
The bottles will be marketed using the Baritainer trade name.
"Having the ability to produce Quoral barrier resin bottles enables CKS to offer another value-added product solution to our customers and demonstrates CKS' commitment to leading edge packaging technologies. We can now offer more cost-effective supply chain solutions to our household chemical, industrial, and automotive customers who require barrier properties in their rigid plastic packaging," said Dewayne Phillips, executive vice president for CKS Packaging, in a statement.
CKS Packaging, based in Atlanta, was founded in 1985 by Charles K. Sewell after selling his original start-up company, Sewell Plastics, which later became known as Constar Plastics Inc. The company has 22 locations across the United States.
Barrier Plastics and sister company BP Polymers are based in Irvine, Calif.
