Long Beach, Calif. — IronJaw Lda., a Portugese startup that says its system of steel jaws to clamp the mold can boost clamp tonnage, says it will be setting up a U.S. team by the end of this year.
Alex Guichard, co-founder and a board member, said that the return on investment for the mold modification system is less than 12 months with an “average of six months.”
Guichard said during the Molding 2018 Conference in Long Beach that the plug-and-play system is available in four tonnage-kit sizes corresponding to injection molding machine clamping forces.
Setúbal, Portugal-based IronJaw has a technical and demonstration center in Le Bourget du Lace, France, in an arrangement with Roctool SA.
