Absolute Haitian Corp., the exclusive sales and service agent for Chinese injection molding machinery maker Haitian Plastics Machinery Ltd., will offer a sneak peak of its next-generation Mars press and additional machinery debuts from Zhafir Plastics Machinery GmbH at NPE2018.
Zhafir is a German subsidiary of Haitian International Holdings Ltd.
From Absolute Haitian's 60-by-80-foot space at Booth W143 — 20 percent larger than its booth at NPE2015 — the company will show a machine from its Zhafir Jenius series, making its debut to North and South American molders.
The JE6500, a 731-ton injection molding machine equipped with a bi-metallic barrel, will mold an automotive grille made of polypropylene in a cycle time of 60 seconds. A Sepro integrated top-entry robot will remove the part.
The Jenius series — available in clamping forces ranging from 506-3,709 tons — is being touted as an energy-efficient option for mid-to-large part precision molding.
"The energy savings are twofold," Glenn Frohring, president of Absolute Haitian, said in a phone interview. "On the clamp side, you have the functions of the servo [hydraulic] system. They're on-demand, so you only use the energy that the motion control requires at that particular time."
In contrast, the press has a high-precision, all-electric injection unit.
At NPE, the Worcester, Mass.-based company will also preview Zhafir's next-generation all-electric Venus series, specifically showing its 101-ton VE900 III that will be running an eight-cavity mold producing a medical in-dwelling needle body. A 505-ton Zhafir Zeres press will be molding a thin-wall food container at the booth, as well.
