Orlando, Fla. — SPS Ideal Solutions Inc. of Naples, Fla., has developed a powder-coated-steel end stop to support a customer using roll racks that dispense biaxially oriented polypropylene film with a high coefficient of friction.
"The end stop keeps the material from slipping," SPS owner Joe DiSabantonio said in an interview at NPE2018 in Orlando May 7-11. "We shipped the first end stop to the initial customer about a year ago."
SPS specializes in custom solutions for metal fabrication, shipping and storage needs. The firm uses state-of-the-art fabrication techniques and extensive engineering and product design experience in creating auxiliary equipment including applications for film handling equipment, rolls, stacking and packing.
SPS is growing fast as the economy improves. DiSabantonio projects 2018 sales of $5 million. That would be a 20 percent increase from last year's results. SPS employs about 10 people in Naples.
SPS utilizes the production services of family-owned contract manufacturer BMG of Kansas Inc. in Hesston, Kan. About 70 people work at BMG.
For sales, SPS represents both BMG and environmentally safe technology provider Cortec Corp. of St. Paul, Minn.
