Orlando, Fla. — Eriez Manufacturing Co. of Erie, Pa., sees increasing demand for metal detection on product finishing lines.
"Use is on the rise [and] almost mandated" for applications involving plastic cups, containers and lids, John Klige, Eriez light industry market manager, said in an interview at NPE in Orlando, May 7-11.
Equipment from the separation technology specialist can inspect raw materials — virgin, regrind or blends — at the beginning of a production line and then in the finishing phase.
At NPE2018, Eriez introduced its Xtreme-brand metal detector line with a wash-down conveyor for processors dealing with pumped liquid product and gravity-dropped dry or free-flowing material. The unit is mounted on a stainless steel base, has a variable speed drive with food-grade belt and is available in four sizes.
In addition, Eriez launched its DSC product with a gate-in housing magnet and standard dust-tight, sanitary and convertible characteristics.
