Mauser USA LLC is opening a new intermediate bulk container facility in Pennsylvania.
The location, in North Wales, Pa., will provide IBCs to the company's reconditioning affiliate National Container Group.
Replacement bottles also will be sold to others in the Northeastern United States via National Container, the company said.
"This new location will improve our carbon footprint as we optimize our supply of bottles to our NCG locations and further solidify our commitment to sustainable packaging," said Ed Konyen, senior vice president of operations of the Mauser USA's IBC division.
News of the Pennsylvania location comes just a few weeks after Mauser's owner, Stone Canyon Industries LLC., announced expansion plans in the same sector.
Stone Canyon's Bway Holding Corp., parent to Mauser, is merging with the holding company of Industrial Container Services. ICS makes, reconditions, distributes and recycles plastic industrial packaging, including IBCs, drums and pails. The company also handles metal containers.
That cash-and-stock deal with Centerbridge Partners L.P. is valued at $1 billion.
Mauser USA is part of Mauser Group of Germany, which has more than 100 locations throughout the world.
