NDC Technologies, a provider of precision measurement and control products for plastic film and sheet, debuted several new measurement systems at NPE2018 — touting their connection with Industry 4.0 data integration and connectivity down to the gauge level.
NDC showcased its latest FilmPro infrared gauge for the film, sheet and coating industries. The gauge uses advanced optical techniques to measure a wide range of film and sheet. It also can measure the thickness of clear, voided, pigmented, cavitated, porous, translucent colored or even black tinted films.
FilmPro can simultaneously measure the individual thicknesses of up to six different layers in coextruded films.
NDC also showed the new Low Energy X-Ray Sensor, for measuring thickness and basis weight of lightweight extruded film and sheet. It also offers excellent narrow streak resolution, according to the Dayton, Ohio-based NDC.
The new Web Surface Inspection Systems provide 100 percent product coverage. Systems can instantly detect, classify, document and record all optical defects across a wide scope of web materials.
NDC's Beta LaserMike brand rolled out the LaserSpeed Pro non-contact length and speed gauge, that boasts accuracy of plus or minus 0.03 percent.
The Beta LaserMike UltraScan Pro provides high-speed, precise measurement of product wall thickness and concentricity, offering faster processing and measurement capabilities.
The BetaLaserMike BenchMike Pro is outfitted with a larger, higher-resolution display and gives faster processing.
