Transcendia Corp. is acquiring Precision Poly LLC, which operates a polyethylene film plant in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Precision Poly makes food grade coextruded film, bags and rolls for flexible packaging. Applications include the food and beverage and industrial markets.
"The strategic acquisition of Precision Poly enhances Transcendia's growing food and beverage segment through the addition of complementary multi-layer blown film technologies and an SQF- (Safe Quality Food) rated facility location," Transcendia CEO Andy Brewer said in a statement. Transcendia is based in Franklin Park, Ill.
"It strengthens our sales channel to distributors for our broader product portfolio including our industry-leading MetPro anti-corrosion packaging technologies to further support our global customers," he continued.
Precision Poly becomes the sixth acquisition by Transcendia in the past five years. Transcendia secured Precision Poly by acquiring its parent company, Spire Flexpack Inc.
