Plastics recycling machinery supplier Herbold Meckesheim GmbH has been hit by “a devastating” fire which broke out at its production site in Meckesheim, Germany, during the night of Sept. 10.
The fire struck the central warehouse and the shipping department for the site, Meckesheim said in a Sept. 11 news release, saying the damage was estimated to run into the millions. No casualties were reported.
Office space, the test center and the production halls were not affected by the fire, and production will continue with “certain restrictions,” the company noted.
Herbold said it had already started to repair the site work in collaboration with its insurance company and would try to avoid serious delivery bottlenecks.
