The topic of best management practices for plastics sorting will be featured in the latest webinar held by the Association of Plastic Recyclers.
The webinar, scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25., will look at resources for material recovery facilities, municipalities and reclaimers.
Presenters are scheduled to be Liz Bedard, director of APR's Rigid Plastics Recycling Program; Stacey Luddy, chief operating officer of More Recycling Associates; and Stacey Demers, project director at SCS Engineers.
“Bale sorts, waste composition studies, plastics sorts, and other studies are a regular practice for MRFs, municipalities, and reclaimers, as well as other organizations. Although beneficial information is gathered from these sorts and studies, the process is not standardized, making it difficult to compare results. The APR Plastics Sorting Best Management Practices (BMPs) have been developed to provide guidelines to standardize plastic sorting categories and the terminology used to report the resulting data,” reads a webinar description.
