Australian plastic packaging giant Pact Group Holdings Ltd. has signed deals with two Auckland, New Zealand-based manufacturers to provide packaging made from 100 percent recycled PET.
Hair care products and milk will soon be distributed in recycled PET.
The shampoo and conditioner bottles have been designed for Mix Ltd.'s Essano brand, and the milk bottles are for Lewis Road Creamery.
Pact said the Essano bottles are 20 percent lighter than Mix's previous high density polyethylene bottles. Mix Ltd. CEO Craig Langley said the bottles achieve Mix's goal of recycled rather than virgin plastic for hair-care products.
The bottles will be in stores across Australia and New Zealand starting in September 2018.
Pact subsidiary Alto Packaging, which has five sites across New Zealand and three in Australia, is manufacturing the 750ml and 1.5liter recycled PET milk bottles for Lewis Road.
