A group of commonly owned packaging companies heavily involved in plastics is unifying as a single firm with a new, but familiar name.
The move combines Bway Corp., Mauser Group, National Container Group and Industrial Container Services under the new name of Mauser Packaging Solutions.
The company announced the name change Oct. 8.
Mauser Packaging Solutions consolidates companies owned by investment firm Stone Canyon Industries LLC of Los Angeles.
The combined operation, based near Chicago in Oak Brook, Ill., has annual revenue of $4 billion annually with 11,000 employees around the world.
Along with the new identity, the company also introduced a new tagline: "Redefining Sustainability."
That tagline "reflects Mauser Packaging Solutions' dedication to better serving customers of all four legacy companies with capabilities that space every phase of the packaging process. It also represents the organizations fresh vision for the future."
Mauser Packaging Solutions CEO Ken Roessler said the combined operations allow the firm to serve customers on a global scale. Combining the companies gives Mauser Packaging more than 180 locations around the world.
"When developing our growth strategy we recognized that customers were looking for a global partner to deliver sustainable packaging solutions and close the loop from purchase to reuse," Roessler said in a statement.
Creating Mauser Packaging Solutions brings together a wide variety of plastic packaging including intermediate bulk containers, drums, jerrycans, pails, bottles, reconditioned packaging, specialty products and medical waste containers.
The company also makes packaging machinery for other firms and operates plastics recycling operations.
On the metal side, the company makes steel drums and a variety of steel products, including paint cans, aerosol containers and oil cans. Mauser Packaging also reconditions drums and IBC and has a fiber drum business.
