Shenandoah, Texas — David Kores Sr., owner of Texas Extrusion Service Inc., died Oct. 23 in Shenandoah at the age of 81.
Kores was born in Westerly, R.I., and served in the U.S. Air Force. He joined Davis-Standard Corp. in 1964, and stayed with the company for most of the next 22 years, rising to supervisor.
Kores left in 1986 to start Texas Extrusion Service in Spring, Texas. He built the company from a one-man business to a 14-employee operation that repairs and rebuilds extrusion equipment.
Kores retired in 2003, and the businesses is now run by one of his sons, General Manager David Kores Jr. He is survived by Sharon, his wife of 30 years, and seven children.
Services were held Oct. 29.
