Three years after taking over Axson Technologies, Sika AG is further integrating the SikaAxson business unit by renaming it Sika Advanced Resins.
The move, Sika said in a Dec. 5 news release, is aimed at reflecting the synergies provided by the Sika group, which is a leading player in specialty chemicals for the construction and industrial sectors.
"This new identity strengthens Sika Advanced Resins' positioning in relation to its competitors, as it gives visibility to the activities of the entire Group,” Morten Muschak, the head of Sika Advanced Resins, said.
The business unit, according to Muschak, is “the number one” tooling company in Europe and is aiming to become a leader in the formulation of high-performance epoxy and polyurethane resins for tooling, composites and dielectrics.
Barr, Switzerland-based Sika acquired French resin maker Axon Technologies in March 2015 and formed SikaAxon business unit.
Sika Advanced Resins' products focus on materials for automotive and shipbuilding, aerospace and renewable energies as well as the sports and leisure industry and the construction sector.
