Austrian recycling machinery maker Erema Group GmbH has purchased 60 percent of Plasmac srl in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
Plasmac, a manufacturer of recycling plants, was previously based in England. In 2018, Syncro Group, a maker of blown film equipment, moved the operation to Italy. In January, it established Plasmac srl.
Erema is based in Ansfelden, Austria.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Syncro Group retains 40 percent of Plasmac.
The CEO of Plasmac is Gabriele Caccia, who also is CEO of Syncro Group.
Plasmac has expertise in edge trim recycling with its Alpha direct feed extruder and Omega shredder-extruder system that run throughputs of up to 550 pounds per hour. The systems also include Powerfeed edge trim transport equipment.
"These machines and components expand our product range of systems for straightforward standard applications in the in-house segment, which is very important to us," Erema CEO Manfred Hackl said.
