Jaime Gomez will become president-elect of the Society of Plastics Engineers at the society's Antec conference in Detroit, set for March 18-21.
Gomez was named to the post Jan. 29 after a vote by SPE councilors and the executive board.
Gomez, partner and chief operating officer at QMeTech LLC in Princeton, N.J., has served as SPE's vice president of events. He coordinated a scavenger hunt for young SPE members, called the Plastics Race, at Antec conferences.
SPE leaders next will be electing a new vice president of events, as well as the next vice president of young professionals.
At the Detroit Antec, Brian Landes will become SPE president for the 2019-2020-year term, taking the reins from Brian Grady. Landes is technology leader at Dow Chemical Co. Grady is a professor at the University of Oklahoma.
