Custom compression molder Jade Engineered Plastics Inc. is moving this year and leaving its four-decade location in Bristol, R.I.
The family-owned and operated manufacturer of precision-engineered fluoropolymer products will occupy a 64,294-square-foot high-bay facility on 11.6 acres in an industrial park in Warren, R.I.
Jade is relocating less than four miles which remaining in Rhode Island's East Bay region.
Mussuchuck Properties LLC purchased the facility and land for $4.375 million, according to a news release from CBRE Group Inc., representative for the undisclosed seller. The East Bay Newspapers website reported that the limited liability company is associated with Jade.
Previously, a FedEx Ground package handling and delivery service facility occupied the site.
CBRE said that Jade's “relocation to a larger facility will allow for continued growth.” Details were not available.
With experience as a machinist and mechanical engineer, Jack Holland founded Jade in 1976. His sons, Steve and Lee, are now Jade's president and vice president, respectively, and the team includes three grandsons: Brian Holland as production and inventory control manager, Matt Holland as purchasing manager and Chris Holland as a production apprentice.

Each molded piece is baked in a sintering oven.
End markets range from basic manufacturers and processors to semi-conductor fabricators and aerospace firms.
Jade's recent equipment additions include a 2.5-inch-diameter bar-capacity computer-numerical-control lathe from Methods Machine Tools Inc. and a high-capacity six-pallet horizontal machining center from Kiwa Machinery Co. Ltd.
Materials include virgin polytetrafluoroethylene, modified PTFE and Jade's proprietary JLON line of PTFE compounds. JLON materials may incorporate one or more fillers to improve performance in a given application or environment.
