U.S. film supplier Now Plastics has launched a “groundbreaking” line of films, made from 60-90 percent post-consumer PET specifically for the European market.
The company based in East Longmeadow, Mass., is targeting Europe as the region takes on its stringent Plastics Strategy, which targets higher rates of recycling and a blanket ban on a number of single-use plastics.
The recycled PET films offered by Now Plastics are especially geared to the consumer packaged goods industry, helping European converters and manufacturers to comply with the new sustainability goals, the company said in a Feb. 27 news release.
"Our high content PCR [post-consumer recycled] PET resin films can make an important contribution to the rapid transition to a circular economy for plastics in Europe,” Now Plastics CEO Larry Silverstein said.
