A new managing director has been appointed at Wittmann-Battenfeld in Kottingbrunn, Austria. The new man at the helm is Rainer Weingraber, who will succeed long-time managing director and CEO Georg Tinschert, who will retire at the end of March.
In a statement announcing the appointment, which took effect in March, Werner Wittmann, managing partner of Wittmann Group, called Weingraber “a top executive who will give the company new impulses from his knowledge and management experience.”
Weingraber, who has a degree in industrial engineering, brings to his new role many years of management experience at a string of internationally renowned companies that includes DaimlerChrysler, Siemens, and Magna International Corp. Prior to joining Wittmann-Battenfeld, he was the managing director of the Haas Group in Austria and in other countries.
Werner Wittmann thanked Tinschert for more than 10 years at the head of the company. Under Tinschert, Wittmann Battenfeld experienced an impressive development both technologically and economically and is one of the major players in the plastics industry today, Wittmann said.
