Austrian rigid plastic packaging firm Alpla has appointed Andreas Reger as general manager for its United States operations, where the company runs 17 manufacturing units.
He is succeeding Philipp Lehner who took the position of global chief financial officer at the beginning of the year.
Reger has 27 years of leadership and development experience in the automotive, equipment manufacturing, and injection molding industries.
“He brings a unique portfolio of growth, and lean successes through the use of change management, strategy development, and business diversification,” Lehner said.
Reger's background, he went on to say, “aligns well with our plans to expand beyond our already growing presence in the U.S. market.”
Prior to joining Alpla, Reger served as president and CEO of Dürr Ecoclean, a Michigan-based automotive and industrial cleaning and surface processing equipment company.
He has also served as the North America president of Pollmann, an Austrian-based supplier of injection and insert-molded components.
The McDonough, Ga.-based Alpla Inc. has 17 manufacturing sites and 1,300 employees in the region.
It was No. 5 in Plastics News' most recent ranking of North American blow molders with an estimated $1.1 billion in production.
