Milacron Holdings Corp. has tapped Michael Jones as president of its plastics processing unit, formally named Advanced Plastics Processing Technologies, for the Americas and Europe.
Jones was previously senior vice president of finance and operations at Milacron, according to his LinkedIn profile. He joined the Blue Ash, Ohio-based company in 2015.
In his new position, which took effect Jan. 17, Jones runs the APPT machinery portfolio and aims to expand Milacron's installed base, including the recently launched Cincinnati large-tonnage product line and the Q-Series injection molding line.
Jones is also focusing on the consumables business, which includes spare and replacement parts, field service support, preventative maintenance programs, and full machine retrofits and rebuilds.
"I am honored to be appointed to lead the APPT Americas and Europe businesses, and I look forward to continuing to build upon Milacron's leadership position by offering the service, the technology and the machinery required by plastics processing customers," Jones said in a statement.
The APPT segment designs and manufactures Milacron's injection molding, extrusion and blow molding equipment, co-injection systems, and related parts and services. Sales in the unit declined 1.4 percent in 2018 to $677.2 million, Milacron executives said in February during an earnings call.
"Our strategic direction is clear," Jones said. "Service, innovative processing solutions and strategically aligned plastics machinery are at the core of what we do, and it is exactly what we will deliver to our customers."
