Berlin Packaging LLC has added "hundreds" of jobs throughout its network of facilities.
The packaging distribution company, which handles plastic containers and closures, said it has upgraded and expanded many of its warehouse locations to increase capacity, a move that requires more workers.
Berlin, based in Chicago, has more than 100 sales and warehouse sites on four continents.
Recent projects include new locations or expansions in Houston; Phoenix; Lockport, Ill.; Ontario, Calif.; and Cranbury, N.J., the company said.
Total expansion was more than 750,000 square feet.
"We experienced a banner growth year in 2018, and we are already off to a strong start in 2019. Our new investments in warehouse space allows us to keep head of demand," Chief Operating Officer Rick Rover said in a statement.
Berlin already has added nearly 300 jobs around the world thanks to the recent moves, the company said.
Work is now under way to expand existing sites in New York, Pittsburgh, Minneapolis and Des Moines, Iowa.
This will add or upgrade another 500,000 square feet.
Growth outside of the U.S. includes a new office in Edinburgh, Scotland, and larger facilities in Nice, France, and Cape Town, South Africa. The company also plans to double its European headquarters space in Milan and add to its Barcelona, Spain, location.
Berlin also supplies glass and metal products.
