Arburg GmbH + Co KG will show its large Freeformer 300-3X industrial additive machine for the first time in America at the Rapid + TCT show in Detroit May 21-23.
Arburg will exhibit at Hall C, Booth 1253. The Freeformer 300-3X will produce gripper fingers in a hard-soft combination made of ABS, a thermoplastic elastomer and support material. Another Freeformer, a 200-3X, will produce a part with honeycomb structures from a TPE approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Arburg says the Freeformer 300-3X is the world's first machine capable of additive manufacturing with resilient hard and soft combinations with support structure from three components. It has three discharge units.
The 300 in the name relates to the available platform surface area, measured in square centimeters. That is a little less than 50 percent larger than the area on the Freeformer 200-3X. And Arburg said 3X stands for the moving axes of the part carrier, in the x, y and z angle.
Arburg GmbH is based in Lossburg, Germany. It's U.S. operation, Arburg Inc., is in Rocky Hill, Conn.
