Injection molder Heyco-Werk USA Inc. is investing $12.75 million to build a new 65,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in North Carolina.
"We are thrilled to expand our manufacturing footprint to North Carolina and join the close network of German-based manufacturers in the region," Daniel Dittmar, CEO and president of Heyco-Werk USA, said in a Jan. 25 news release.
"With this latest investment we set an important milestone for the future of Heyco, ensuring both strategic growth as a Tier 1 automotive supplier, and the long-term success of our company and our employees."
The new facility, expected to create 34 new jobs in the region, will feature production and showroom space, the release said.
Heyco-Werk USA's second location in North Carolina "will help the company meet the growing needs of BMW and other European car manufacturers in North America," it said.
"Heyco benefits from the central location that provides access to major hubs to our specialized supply chains and strong customer base," Dittmar added.
The new 10-acre site has room for future expansions, the release said.
Heyco-Werk USA did not immediately respond to requests for comment by Plastics News.
