Holiday shoppers looking for that perfect gift now can head to Braskem's online storefront on Amazon.
Braskem, a materials maker based in São Paulo, with U.S. headquarters in Philadelphia, recently began offering polypropylene filaments for 3D printing on the giant consumer website. Braskem is offering the materials through a partnership with sales and marketing firm Xenon Arc of Bellevue, Wash.
Braskem's PP filament is available online in 1.75-millimeter and 2.85-mm diameters. The firm's carbon fiber reinforced PP filament also is available.
"We are continuously looking for new ways to make our materials more accessible to consumers and startups to help foster innovation and growth," additive manufacturing commercial director Jason Vagnozzi said.
It's a very mainstream move for Braskem, a major supplier of PP resins, bioplastics and other materials. PP filament might be an unconventional gift, but the plastics people in your life will surely appreciate it. And anyone without plastics people in their life should make a New Year's resolution to find some during 2022.
