Custom materials formulator Addipel has added a new ribbon blender to increase its mixing capacity.
In a news release, officials with Addipel in Elyria, Ohio, said that the new investment will allow the firm to deliver more value to its customers.
"This investment will help improve our in-plant efficiency and help increase overall plant throughput, which positions us well to support our customers' growing demand in custom powdered and compacted additive blends," General Manager Jake Reichard said.
In addition to the new blender, Addipel also recently hired two more operators. The firm is a unit of materials supplier Barentz International BV of Hoofddorp, the Netherlands.
Addipel was founded in 2008 and was acquired by Maroon Group in 2014 before Maroon was itself acquired by Barentz in 2020. Addipel was located in nearby Avon Lake before moving to a 40,000-square-foot location in Elyria in 2019.
The new site includes ribbon blenders, high speed mixers, compaction mills and custom packaging services. Addipel offers a wide range of materials that can be formulated and processed including UV absorbers, antioxidants, lubricants, mineral fillers, flame retardants, clarifiers and heat stabilizers. The firm sells to customers in the plastics, adhesives, automotive, rubber and composites industries.
