Samsung honors Ineos Styrolution as PS, ABS supplier

Global styrenics maker Ineos Styrolution has been awarded a Top 20 Best Partner Prize from Samsung Electronics.

In a news release, Ineos Styrolution officials said that the award recognizes the long-standing cooperation between the two firms for the supply of polystyrene and Terluran-brand ABS resins.

Samsung uses a high-flow, injection molding Terluran grades for its line of washing machines. Ineos Styrolution's general-purpose and high-impact PS is Samsung's material of choice for refrigerator components, officials added.

Samsung, based in Seoul, operates a refrigerator plant in Wronki, Poland. The award was presented at a Samsung Supplier Day event there.

"The award came as a pleasant surprise to us," Magdalena Walczak, Ineos Styrolution key account manager, said in the release. "We feel very, very honored to be awarded as the only polymer producer.

"We are proud to work with a well-recognized global player like Samsung," she added. "We are fully committed to continue providing Samsung with the best material solutions in the future."

Ineos Styrolution, based in Frankfurt, employs 3,500 at 20 production sites worldwide and has annual sales of around $6 billion.
