From the cover ExxonMobil and California are facing off in a massive lawsuit over plastics recycling. Jointly covered by Jim Johnson and Steve Toloken, this story developed over the course of last week with California Attorney General Rob Bonta filing a lawsuit against ExxonMobil over chemical recycling claims. The company fired back essentially saying it wasn't their fault California's recycling system is broken. Don Loepp recapped the story in our latest Material Insights.
Also Steve Toloken highlights the latest push from diplomats in the U.N. to include resin production caps. The final phase of treaty talks are set to begin in two months, but at a recent UN General Assembly session the countries talked more about resin caps.
