Novi, Mich.-based DexKo Global Inc., which manufactures trailer running gear, chassis assemblies and related components, has acquired Osceola, Ind.-based injection molder Horizon Plastics & Engineering Inc.
"After nearly 30 years of partnering with Dexter, we are very excited to join the DexKo Global team," Horizon President Neil Hassinger said in an April 21 news release.
"This combination will expand our current market exposure while also bringing injection molding expertise to Dexter, creating many opportunities for both the employees and the business to grow and succeed," he said.
Horizon has been a supplier to Dexter's door and vent manufacturing plant located in Bristol, Ind.
Horizon operates a 15,000-square-foot facility employing about 20 people.
DexKo did not respond to multiple requests for comment by Plastics News. In the release, Adam Dexter, CEO of Dexter Axel, a subsidiary of DexKo, said adding Horizon will "strengthen our ability to serve customers and improve the flexibility of our business."
