Ensinger Group has purchased the assets of Poly-Tech Industrial Inc., a plastic shapes firm in Huntersville, N.C.
No purchase price was disclosed. Poly-Tech was founded in 2001 by Dan Cedrone, who will join Ensinger. In a news release, Cedrone said that Poly-Tech "is known for its technically oriented solutions, combining high-performance material knowledge with practical application experience."
Poly-Tech stocks a wide range of plastic shapes and also does plastic and metal CNC machining work.
Ensinger, based in Nufringen, Germany, with a North American headquarters in Washington, Pa., made the acquisition through its Ensinger PolyTech unit.
Ensinger will combine Poly-Tech with its Precision Components injection molding business. Ensinger's John Tremblay will lead the new unit as vice president and general manager. He said that the addition of Poly-Tech's engineering and manufacturing capabilities in high-performance materials "complement [Ensinger's] value proposition of providing our customers pellet to part solutions."
Ensinger Precision Components specializes in injection molding parts and near-net shapes, as well as PEEK tubes and the firm's Plastock-brand line of mechanical drive components.
Globally, Ensinger employs 2,500 at 33 locations. The firm does a wide range of plastics processing work, including extrusion, machining, injection molding, compression molding, casting, additive manufacturing and compounding.
