Pexco LLC has continued a busy second half to the year, making its third acquisition since September by purchasing shapes maker Plastic Profiles LLC.
Plastic Profiles is based in Parsippany, N.J. The firm was founded in 1965 and specializes in fluoropolymer rods, tubes and compression molded sheets. The firm's products are used in semiconductors, aerospace, defense and industrial as well as in valves, gaskets and sealing.
In a news release, Pexco CEO Sam Patel said that the acquisition of Plastic Profiles "further expands our capabilities and technical expertise in the world of high-performance polymers."
"The company's reputation as a reliable, high-quality supplier of [fluoropolymer] product lines will add considerable value for our customers," he added.
Plastic Profiles President Michelle Tripucka said that her firm "is excited about the potential to benefit from Pexco's vast resources with the hopes of better serving our loyal customer base with an expanded product range."
Looking ahead, Patel said that Pexco "remains committed to pursuing investments that broaden our capabilities and position us to offer a comprehensive suite of products for a wide variety of end markets."
In September, Johns Creek, Ga.-based Pexco acquired injection molder Performance Plastics Ltd. of Cincinnati and fluoropolymer products maker Enflo LLC of Bristol, Conn.
With Plastic Profiles, Pexco now has made 12 acquisitions since 2018. In March, the firm was reacquired by Odyssey Investment Partners LLC of Atlanta, which had owned Pexco from 2012-17.
With estimated sales of $290 million, Pexco is the 20th-largest pipe, profile and tubing producer in North America, according to Plastics News data.
