Taylor Corp. is adding Acrylic Design Associates, a maker of signs and fixtures.
North Mankato, Minn.-based Taylor, which calls itself "one of the largest graphic communications firms in North America," will place ADA within the company's Taylor Visual Impressions line of business. ADA is based in Minneapolis.
"My excitement in joining Taylor goes beyond the complementary capabilities that we can put to work for our respective customers," said Bill McNeely Jr., owner and CEO of ADA, in a statement.
"I think more about our common Minnesota roots and the respect each company has for its employees. Our two companies have strong shared values that are directly linked to our family founders, Glen Taylor and my father, Bill Sr. These will be the difference makers in what we will accomplish together," he said.
ADA operates out a 250,000-square-foot location where it provides services including design, engineering, prototyping, machining, and vacuum and drape forming. The company also provides print, paint and lamination services as well as production services, according to its website.
Materials used by the company include ABS, expanded PVC, polycarbonate, polypropylene, styrene, high density polyethylene and glycol-modified PET.
"Together with ADA, Taylor Visual Impressions will broaden its assistance to clients to achieve their goals for innovation, design, quality, speed-to-market, cost and sustainability. Their expertise in the retail, financial, health care and OEM markets makes ADA a perfect fit with Taylor's customer base in those same markets," said Taylor Group President Mike Robinson in a statement.
Taylor Corp. is owned by Glen Taylor, the longtime owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise in the National Basketball Association. He is in the process of selling a majority ownership of the franchise to an investment group that includes former Major League Baseball player Alex Rodriguez.
Taylor Corp.'s businesses include a consumer packaging unit that includes in-mold labels, flexible packaging, shrink sleeves and other labels.
ADA also offers Recrylic, which the company describes as "the world's first certified 100 percent recycled and recyclable acrylic product line."
