Riudellots de la Selva, Spain — Comexi Group Industries SA, a Spanish maker of packaging machinery, says its digital service platform for the flexible packaging printing and converting sector allows users to visualize, compile and analyze real-time data to improve production performance and develop smart factories.
The company launched the platform, called Comexi Cloud, in 2016 to help with production analytics, job costing, ordering parts online, maintenance and up-to-date machine documentation.
Comexi recently issued a news release about how the platform helped Maxiplast Embalagens, a Brazilian producer of flexible packaging and raffia bags that began using it two years ago after purchasing a Comexi FW 1508 flexographic press.
"The tools with which Comexi Cloud provides enables us to make more efficient decisions," Simone Weber, plant manager, said in the release.
The business uses the technology to compare past and current item configurations, store old processes and remotely access all printing processes in real time via telephone or internet, Weber said.
"Consequently, we are capable of knowing the exact performance and production speed of an item, as well as any obstacles which may have occurred during the process. All of this can be accomplished in real time with the use of my telephone or from my home," Weber said.
Comexi says the platform can reinvent the manner in which printers and converters manage every type of process.
Founded in 1954, Comexi is based in Riudellots de la Selva.
