Comexi, of Girona, Spain, which makes equipment for the flexible packaging conversion industry, is offering smart glasses with remote connectivity to link field technicians and the support department in real time, with people from both groups seeing the same thing.
The smart glasses have a number of other features, including offering hands-free videoconferencing; allowing the remote expert to use a red pointer to help and guide field engineers; enabling the help desk to capture and edit a freeze frame of the video call, type notes and send it back to the field engineer; and allow field engineers to view text files with simultaneous translation, images, electrical diagrams, pdf machine planes as well as documents that have been sent from support departments so the help desk can share on-screen information with the field engineers.
