The Conair Group says the latest option for its Thermolator-brand temperature-control units (TCUs), which offer processors non-ferrous construction for all wetted parts, making them resist corrosion and other problems, is now available for all products that use water as the coolant.
The new product feature addresses process water supplies that are untreated, unfiltered or have quality issues.
Conair’s TCU consists of a cast-bronze pump volute, heater tube, mixing tube, and impeller designed to extend its working life, according to Jim Fisher, Conair sales manager for heat transfer.
Medical molders and other processors can benefit from this design, Fisher said in a news release.
“Thermolator TCUs with non-ferrous construction are a great solution for processors who are using distilled or reverse osmosis water, both of which can be aggressive to iron components, and who want to reduce corrosion levels in their process cooling systems,” Fisher said.
The Conair Group supplies auxiliary equipment for plastics processors, including resin drying systems, blenders, feeders and material-conveying systems, temperature-control equipment and granulators. The company also offers extruders line-control systems, film and sheet scrap-reclaim systems and downstream equipment for pipe and profile extrusion.
