Traverse City, Mich. — CPM Extrusion Group is continuing its monthly series of web-based presentations with upcoming topics on applications for twin-screw extruders in recycling and compounding.
The free hour-long webinars started in 2013 — long before COVID-19 — and are broadcast live three times (9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Eastern time) to correspond with U.S., European and Asian time zones, according to Adam Dreiblatt, CPM Extrusion Group's director of process technology, who leads the e-learning.
"There is no shortage of twin-screw compounding extruders around the world, but the training and knowledge to optimize and troubleshoot is missing," Dreiblatt said in a news release. "CPM webinars have become widely recognized for presenting technology without promotional aspects, and greatly appreciated by the feedback from attendees."
He said some webinars have attracted more than 200 attendees. Upcoming topics include "Rebuild, restore or replace" on Feb. 10, bottle-to-bottle PET recycling on March 10 and twin-screw extruder barrel temperature control on April 7.
The presentations end with a question-and-answer session. Participants can ask questions via text message through the webinar interface and get an answer real-time.
Many of the attendees are from global resin suppliers and custom compounders from outside the United States, who have limited access to such technical information, Dreiblatt said.
The complete series of more than 40 pre-recorded webinars is available for downloading or streaming through the Extrusion Knowledge Center on the CPM website for a fee.
