Fortum Corp., a Finland-based clean energy company, announced just before K 2019 that it was bringing to market a plastic compound made out of recycled plastic and natural cellulose fiber, called Fortum Circo PP CF.
It can be used the same way as traditional polypropylene and is suitable for injection molding.
"The new compound has a very good running length, proven by the spiral flow test, and greatly reduced cycle time," said Mikko Koivuniemi, who heads Fortum's plastic product line.
The first product made out of Fortum Circo PP CF is a school chair, the Prima, that has been in production for decades and is used in schools throughout Finland and abroad, made by Isku Interior Oy.
