Frigel Group has launched its 3FR modular air-cooled chillers for plastics processors in North America.
Supporting needs from 38-130 tons, the compact modular chillers offer better control, flexibility and a leading energy efficiency ratio (EER) for a wide range of processes, including injection and blow molding, blown film and cast sheet/film extrusion applications, according to the company.
The split-system chillers feature an indoor chiller module and outdoor remote condenser, reducing the system footprint inside the plant. The units eliminate the need for a cooling tower, or the need for glycol.
“Split-system chillers have been a staple in our customers’ manufacturing plants for years, but never did these units come with the host of benefits Frigel now brings to the market for an even higher level of intelligent process cooling,” said Al Fosco, marketing manager at Frigel North America in East Dundee, Ill. “We’re combining modularity and efficiency with advanced digital controls, ensuring that these air-cooled chillers are working smarter, not harder, for our customers.”
