Rheinböllen, Germany — Hahn Automation GmbH has a new product series called SmartSolutions that uses specially developed software to set up and control processing systems on a tablet.
Changeable parameters are displayed with symbols and graphics so even inexperienced operators can find their way around the software — dubbed SIA for smart intuitive automation — to adapt the systems to their individual requirements.
Rheinböllen-based Hahn says the SmartSolutions are each equipped with a camera that sends a live photo during the setup process to precisely define processing points. An intelligent menu lets operators know the steps of the process as the system guides the user through it. In addition, some program sections are preconfigured for the operator to access as needed.
"Our goal was to develop a machining system that is easy to operate for anyone without any technical knowledge and yet does not allow any compromises in precision," Frank Konrad, Hahn Automation managing director, said in a news release. "SmartSolutions can map almost every conceivable industrial machining process and are suitable for articles starting from a batch size of one single item."
Hahn launched SmartSolutions Press for joining and press-in processes, SmartSolutions Torque for screwing processes and SmartSolutions Dispense for dosing and greasing. Other system for laser marking and optical inspection are in development.
